AASL Goes for High Score with Gaming Strand

The American Association of School Librarians recently announced the creation of a gaming strand for the upcoming 2009 AASL conference “Rev Up Learning”. Session proposals are being accepted online through December 1. “It’s so exciting that AASL is becoming a division of gamers by adding a gaming strand to our 2009 AASL conference” noted AASL immediate past president Sara Kelly Johns.  “It will help our students will “get” the connection between school libraries and all modes of learning.”

AASL will also be offering a pre-conference session on gaming in school libraries looking at the alignment of gaming with the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner at the 2009 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.
