Call for Presenters: TTRPG virtual mini conference- March 31, 2023

Exciting news all!

The Games & Gaming Round Table (GameRT) of the American Library Association is looking for presenters for its 2023 one day mini conference to be held on March 31st. The conference will be virtual and free (Presenters will join a Zoom session that will be livestreamed and recorded on the GameRT Twitch channel).

The deadline for proposals is end of day February 24, 2023.

This year’s theme is tabletop role playing games (TTRPGs). TTRPGs continue to grow in popularity and now more than ever communities are looking for ways to connect, spaces to play, and new systems to learn. We are interested in presentations that connect TTRPGs to libraries and community building, whether the focus is on collections, programming, or TTRPG culture. Talks need to be relevant to libraries/community building, but presenters don’t need to be a librarian or member to present.

Presenters can choose a five-, fifteen-, or thirty-minute presentation, each with a question-and-answer session after.

Possible Presentation Topics

  • Be Kind, Rewind: The Importance of Safety Tools at the Table
  • Yes, And…: How to Role Play Around with Improv
  • To Whom It May Concern: An Introduction to Epistolary Games
  • From BBEG to XP: Best Practices for Big Campaigns

To submit a session proposal, please complete this brief form: http://bit.ly/403ENZ9

The meeting’s planning committee will select proposals and will send applicants notification of selection by March 3.
