UK Donor Spotlight! Rory’s Story Cubes

Asmodee UK to fuel creative thought in libraries across the UK in support of International Games Week

Asmodee UK is delighted to be supporting International Games Week this year by donating copies of Rory’s Story Cubes to libraries across the UK.

Rory’s Story Cubes® is the pocket-sized creative story generator that encourages creativity, develops social confidence, enhances language development skills and creates connections and unique moments between people young and old alike.

Story Cubes are perfect for telling stories at home and on the go. Children may recognise them from activity times at their school or after school clubs. They are perfect for encouraging empathy and self-esteem through storytelling.

For any one keen to tap into their imagination – whether child or grown-up, playing with Story Cubes can help to unlock the stories within us and create numerous combinations of tales.

The Story Cubes themselves originated as a creative problem-solving tool for adults. The man behind the brand, Rory, was a creativity trainer and coach, working with individuals and organisations to look at problems in different ways.

The brain thinks in pictures but communicates in words so having a visual aid to creative problem solving is incredibly advantageous and is the foundation on which Story Cubes are based.

“As huge believers in the power of storytelling, being able to connect Rory’s Story Cubes with people, storytellers and games enthusiasts in their local libraries across the country is something we’re so happy to be able to do.

The UK is a nation of great storytellers so we are thrilled that Rory’s Story Cubes can play a part in inspiring the imagination and creative thoughts of the future while reinforcing the social value of games through local libraries as part of this year’s International Games Week.

We can’t wait to hear about the stories and creative ideas that come out of this year’s Games Week.” Ben Hogg, Asmodee UK – distributor of Rory’s Story Cubes in the UK.

Playing with Story Cubes isn’t necessarily about creating a literary masterpiece. It’s about tapping into imaginations to create fantastical stories in the moment of playing with the cubes. Stories that may not have had the chance to exist before, come to life through improvisation and play.

  1. It is very fun for those who enjoy writing and have a good imagination. My daughter and I love it.
Such an awesome game. Great that no matter what their age the kids can get involved rolling the dice and it’s always a different story :)
