Hi, everyone! This is Ray from The Op Games team. I create video content and run our social media to help bring awareness to not just the games that we make, but the board gaming hobby as a whole.
When we make a viral video that reaches a broader audience, a type of comment that I’ll always see pop up is something along the lines of “I love board games, but I have no one to play with!” Now if only I could reach through my phone and invite people to play board games at my house! But while I think that technology is still a few years away, there are some other great ways that we can bridge the gap between the board game enthusiasts and the board game curious, with one of the best being supporting board game libraries!
Board gaming libraries help to break down financial barriers to the hobby and provide a welcoming gaming community for newcomers! And we believe that now more than ever, it’s crucial to support third spaces that foster in-person play.
That’s why we here at The Op Games are so proud to be partnering with the American Library Association! To support the ALA’s work, we will be donating a wide range of our games to every library participating in their Games & Gaming Round Table. From decade-old classics to hot new releases! Libraries will receive a copy of each of the following games:
Telestrations
- Our original claim to fame! Telestrations was originally released over 10 years ago, but it remains a chart-topping success to this day. It’s a classic party game of miscommunication and terrible drawings.
Blank Slate
- The perfect choice for that friend who says they “don’t like board games.” Blank Slate is a super simple word association game where players score when they think in sync.
Hues and Cues
- The most colorful board game there is! In Hues and Cues, players will have to give creative clues to get their friends to guess the right color out of over 400 shades. A great way to find out that you all remember Barney being a different shade of purple!
Tapple
- A viral hit! In Tapple, players race against the clock to name things in various categories before all the letters of the alphabet are taken. A great choice for players of all ages.
Flip 7
- Flip 7 has been taking the board gaming world by storm with its clever twist on the classic Blackjack formula. There’s no such thing as a quiet game of Flip 7– so librarians beware!
Tacta
- The latest hotness! Tacta is a surprisingly tricky spatial card game with six ways to play and an eye-catching table presence.
