Join the round tables of the American Library Association (GameRT, GNCRT, FMRT, IRRT, RRT, and IFRT) for a day of interactive sessions about intellectual freedom, popular media, and moral panic, as well as conversations about how libraries work to protect the freedom to read.

Round Table Round Table (10:00a – 11:00a Central)

Join members of GameRT, FMRT, RRT, IRRT, and IFRT for a discussion on intellectual freedom, the freedom to read, and how challenges to the right to read are affecting libraries and library users.

IFRT & IRRT Trivia (11:15a – 12:15p Central)

Join the IFRT and IRRT to test your knowledge in a pub trivia-style game! Attendees will be quizzed in the areas of banned books, library history, librarians and libraries in media, and libraries and intellectual freedom around the world. Bragging rights abound for the winner!

GNCRT & RRT – Dramatic Comics Reading (12:30p – 1:30p Central)

GNCRT and RRT will present a dramatic reading of comics by Maia Kobabe! A Q&A with Maia will follow the presentation.

FMRT & GameRT – Mazes & Monsters Screening & Chat (1:45p – 4:30p Central)

FMRT and GameRT will screen the 1982 film Mazes & Monsters, starring Tom Hanks! A discussion about the film, moral panic, and freedom to play will follow the screening.
