April 5 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Learn & Play

Registration required: https://ala-events.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0sfu-orDwvE93bRlzuy1vlJQmJOk_t71wV

Come and join us for our upcoming Learn & Play event where Regina and Thomas showcase a “new” ancient game. For this session they will dive into the world of Senet, an ancient Egyptian game that has been played for over 5000 years. See how it’s played, learn a bit about its history, and learn how you can inspire modern audiences by rediscovering the games that kept their ancestors entertained for millennia!

Presenters:
Regina Bouley Sweeten is the Archives and Special Collections Librarian for the Golden Library at Eastern New Mexico University. Other than knitting and spinning, she enjoys board games, tabletop RPGs, and collecting more games during Steam sales than she could ever possibly play.

Thomas Vose is the past president of GameRT and Director of the Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County in Western Maryland, where he keeps himself and his patrons amused with games, zines, and books of all kinds.
