What is Extra Life?
Extra Life is a fantastic way for gamers to play games and raise money for their local Children’s
Miracle Network Hospital. Since 2008, Extra Life has united people from across the world in
gaming for charity, with every dollar raised going back to over 170 Children’s Miracle Network
hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
For nearly ten years, gamers have celebrated Extra Life with a 24-hour marathon of gaming!
This year, with our 24-hour marathon on November 4th, 2017, it lines up perfectly with
International Games Week. Play games, support your local library by participating in IGW AND
heal kids? What’s not to love about this scenario?
How you can help!
Your library can (and should!) create a team so that any staff, friends or family participating in
Extra Life locally can join together to play games for their local Children’s Miracle Network
Hospital. Be sure to add “IGW” to the first part of your team name to easily identify your team as a part of International Games Week.
How to participate in Extra Life:
Sign Up:
– Pledge to play games from your home or online. Play during the 24-hour marathon or on
any day (or time) that works for you!
Fundraise & Recruit :
– Ask your family and friends to donate to your fundraising and recruit others to join your
team.
Play games, heal kids:
– Raise funds, have fun, and help heal kids at your local Children’s Miracle Network
Hospitals.
