La Mancha is a storytelling card game based on Miguel de Cervantes’s novel Don Quixote. This game includes over 200 cards with chivalric phrases, mighty treasures, feats of strength, and love interests that you might encounter on your epic journey. The goal is to be the player with the most feats (feat cards) at the end of play.

This game is for 3-5 players who can choose the length of play by choosing how many feats they wish to accomplish on their journey. At the start of the game, players have their armor, lance and mighty steed along with five chivalry cards. Play starts with a draw from the Journey deck.

If an encounter is drawn, the player who drew the card is now the judge who the other players must please with stories based upon a phrase from one of their chivalry cards. The winner gets to pick a card from the treasure deck and the judge gets to take one played chivalry card.

If a love card is drawn, the player who drew the card takes on the role of that character. Other players must woo them with poems created from the text from three of their chivalry cards. The judge picks the winner who gets to keep the love card which gives them extra strength and special effects. The judge then gets to pick two of the chivalry cards played during this turn.

If a feat card is drawn, all players roll dice and add that number to their treasure, love, and knights gear card to get a score for their feat attempt. Players can play chivalry or love cards to thwart other players. Once a player makes two successful feat attempts they win the feat. The player with the most feats wins at the end of the game is the winner of La Mancha.

Thank you, Pie for Breakfast Studios for your donation of La Mancha!
