Library IGM Event Spotlight – Gwinnett County Public Library’s Game Jam

Are you developing programming for International Games Month in November? Check out what Gwinnett County Public Library has planned!

Gwinnett County Public Library’s Learning Labs will be hosting a 48-Hour as well as a 2-Week Game Jam in November. Both jams will start on Saturday, November 1st at 9:00 AM EST. The 48-Hour Game Jam will end on Monday, November 3rd at 9:00AM EST and the 2-Week Game Jam will end on Sunday, November 16th at 11:59PM EST.

These game jams will be accepting submissions from around the world, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t live in Georgia! Out of state entries will be eligible to win a handcrafted “Out of State Award,” complete with your name and game title, and your game will be featured in a highlight reel. If you are from out of state, please make sure a representative is available to be present to receive any potential prizes.

Voting on awards will be conducted through Itch’s built in voting system. Plus, to ensure comprehensive feedback, we will also have a few external judges. Voting will begin after submission deadlines and will end on Sunday, November 30th at 11:59 PM EST. If you’re interested in being a judge, email GCPL at learninglabs@gwinnettpl.org.

“We are excited to be hosting this during ALA’s International Games Month and we can’t wait to see what everyone submits! Games of all levels are welcome, so this is a great chance to try something new!”
— Patrick Sturgill and Will Prybylski, Game Jam leads
