This year GameRT was very happy to be able to partner with the awesome people at the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) and the New Member Round Table (NMRT) for a first-ever National Trivia Championship at the ALA 2022 conference in Washington DC.
Featuring ten rounds of trivia compiled by librarians from both the US and Canada, this event had over 60 pre-registrations, and eight teams competing that night. The winning team, “J 3+3” included three “Jeopardy” alumni, demonstrating how trivia among librarians is serious business indeed, drawing out the best in the country!

(As a side note, if making pub trivia questions is hard, imagine writing questions meant to challenge a collection of competing librarians!)
Lovely certificates were awarded to the champions, who also made off with a pool of VISA gift cards as well to be shared among them.

As a ticketed event, the funds raised went to support the three participating partner groups.
We look forward to bringing the Trivia Championship back at ALA 2023 in Chicago – we hope to see you there!
Please send me info for 2023. Thanks!
